USCIS Completed the Second Random Selection for FY 2024 H-1B Cap

USCIS opens a 14-day initial registration period every fiscal year for parties interested in employing H-1B workers. Applicants must comply with the guidelines and requirements within the given period to qualify for the selection process. Only those picked by the USCIS may petition for an H-1B visa and proceed to the succeeding stages.

Online applications are unavailable for H-1B petitions. Applicants must file their printed petitions at the correct service centers.

Second Round of H-1B Selection for FY 2024

USCIS had previously determined that it gathered enough entries for the 2024 H-1B cap from the initial registration period. USCIS later announced it needed additional registrants to reach the quota. The agency selected 77,600 registrations during the second round.

After Being Successfully Selected

Upon notice of being successfully picked from either the primary or second selection, coordinate with your employer. They may initiate H-1B cap-subject petitions on your behalf and proceed with the rest of the immigration process.
